Read the first two pages of this strange and surprising story, and take notes in the margins. If you haven't printed out the story, divide a page of your notebook into four sections, and at the top of each one, write: "Vocabulary", "I think", "I feel", and "I wonder". As you read, circle any words you don't know, or write them in the "Vocabulary" section. Write your thoughts, feelings and questions about what you're reading. For example, on the first page of the reading the narrator states, "It's a hot day and I hate my wife." You may wonder why the narrator hates his wife, so in the "I wonder" section, you could write, "Why does the narrator hate his wife?". Or maybe you feel this is an upsetting statement, and you could write, "That's messed up!"
