Here's an Easter Bunny bringing a basket full of colorful eggs.
Some people do Easter egg hunts with their family.
Eggs can be painted with many beautiful designs.
Did you notice that in both of these pictures "Eostre" or "Ostara" has a rabbit or hare? Some versions of the myth of this goddess say that the rabbit or hare was her favorite animal because it has so many babies, and that this rabbit would bring colorful eggs to people's homes. Children would put nests out in which the rabbit could leave the eggs. It's believed that the Easter basket, which usually has a bed of grass or fake grass at the bottom, developed from these nests.

Sometimes towns, cities and schools organize Easter egg hunts for many children.
In the Ukraine, a country in Eastern Europe, people make "Pysansky Eggs". This is a complicated process which uses wax batik techniques. It is believed that this tradition is thousands of years old! Look at the video below to see how these are traditionally made!

These are little chocolate eggs covered in colorful aluminum foil. Often children will find eggs like these hidden in the grass and bushes on Easter morning, and will collect them in an Easter basket.

Nobody is completely sure of the origins of the Easter bunny and Easter eggs, but many people who have studied them believe that they started in what are now Germany and England, with the myth of the Goddess "Eostre" or "Ostara", who was a goddess of fertility and new life. The myth stated that she would arrive in the spring, spread warmth and make things grow. This myth existed before the beginning of Christianity.
